Group Tours

If you would like to book a tour for your group for a date and time to suit you then please contact the Winchester Visitor Information Centre to discuss your requirements and to make a booking, +44 (0) 1962 840500 or tourism@winchester.gov.uk

Guides can be booked for any number of people and tours can be in languages other than English – please check what languages are currently available, usually French, German, Italian and Portuguese.  Tours can either be a general introduction to Winchester or on a particular theme, either one from the current year’s programme or something else.  Popular ones include Jane Austen’s Winchester, Crime & Punishment and Saxon Winchester, but the Guides will always try to meet your requirements given adequate notice.  Prices start from £130 for a tour of up to two hours.

Winchester is packed with historical and architectural treasures.  Why not make the most of your visit by extending your tour to a half or full day with a tailored itinerary and built-in refreshment stops?

Guides can also be booked for coach tours to explore the Hampshire countryside around Winchester and also into neighbouring Wiltshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight.

If you are bringing more than 20 people for a walking tour, you will normally require one or more additional guides, with one being the lead guide.  Each guide can take up to 20 people.  If the group is very large so that three or more guides are required, the lead guide may charge an administration fee, currently £20.
