Good value for fun historical walk! We went on the 2pm Winchester tour with Lorraine, lasting 90mins. Lorraine was very knowledgeable, lively and made the tour very interesting. We paid about £12 each and were lucky to be the only 2 so it felt like a private tour. Info on Abbey Gardens, Alfred the Great, we walked along the riverbank, went to the house where Jane Austen lived and died and toured a number of other interesting spots. Well worth it!

Upper Winchester Tour Day Before Cruise Took train from Southampton and then walked down hill to visitor center meeting spot. Easy to find and had gift shop. Tour started at Cathedral and went up hill. Our plan was to return to the Cathedral after to explore more on our own, however this was the day the temperatures were scorching hot, so we cut our day short. We loved our tour and loved the town. Our guide was knowledgeable and stayed on a schedule. This was a delightful excursion from Southampton.

Fast track getting to know Winchester. We went on a one and a half hour guided walking tour of Upper Winchester with Graham. We were on holiday in the area and felt it was the best way to learn something about a city we had driven past many times over the years. We were in a group of seven. Graham was an excellent and knowledgeable guide who made us feel at ease as he opened our eyes not just to the various important landmarks but also the history of the city and its key leaders going back as far as when England was a land bridge to the continent. He was thoroughly interesting and we would absolutely recommend his tour as a way of fast tracking your learning about Winchester.

Winchester walking tour We tried to book a walking tour through Trip Advisor the night before,, but they all came back as fully booked. We tried the Winchester tourist information office early the next morning and they had a sign for walking tours every day at 11 and 2. We enquired, and were able to get tickets, at £12 each, for that mornings walk. Our guide was a lovely lady called Sue, who was very knowledgeable about Winchester, and answered our questions, and gave us tips on places to see, making it a splendid and informative morning around Winchester. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent tour with charming tour guide My French friend and I had a lovely tour of Winchester on Thursday afternoon. Our tour guide, Michael did an excellent job of showing us around the old part of the city taking in the Roman walls and gates, the River Itchen, King Alfred’s statue and the history behind it, Wolvesey Castle, Winchester College, Winchester Cathedral, Jane Austin and much more. His knowledge was extensive and he was happy to share with us all that he knew. We had a lovely time seeing the city and listening to its history. I would highly recommend it if you’re ever in Winchester and want to know more.

Informative and enjoyable guided walking tour! This is the second walking guided tour of Winchester we’ve been on and this was Crime and Punishment. Very interesting, with a vey knowledgeable guide, Judith. Lots of things to see and learn, if you know where to look. Great fun! Thank you and we’ll be back for more!

A walk through history Friend and I did the lower Winchester tour. Really enjoyed the tour with our guide Diana. Although both of us lived in Winchester most of our lives, we learnt so much about the history of our fantastic city . Great afternoon.
