EXCELLENT Based on 228 reviews Posted on Tripadvisor Bagabargain Verified Winchester walking tour
We tried to book a walking tour through Trip Advisor the night before,, but they all came back as fully booked. We tried the Winchester tourist information office early the next morning and they had a sign for walking tours every day at 11 and 2. We enquired, and were able to get tickets, at £12 each, for that mornings walk. Our guide was a lovely lady called Sue, who was very knowledgeable about Winchester, and answered our questions, and gave us tips on places to see, making it a splendid and informative morning around Winchester. Would definitely recommend. Posted on Tripadvisor Yvonne H Verified Quirky additional information
Excellent afternoon tour with Mike. Great knowledge imparted in a quirky funny manner. Easy to ask questions of. Added additional information without asking. Posted on Tripadvisor Wendy G Verified Excellent tour with charming tour guide
My French friend and I had a lovely tour of Winchester on Thursday afternoon. Our tour guide, Michael did an excellent job of showing us around the old part of the city taking in the Roman walls and gates, the River Itchen, King Alfred's statue and the history behind it, Wolvesey Castle, Winchester College, Winchester Cathedral, Jane Austin and much more. His knowledge was extensive and he was happy to share with us all that he knew. We had a lovely time seeing the city and listening to its history. I would highly recommend it if you're ever in Winchester and want to know more. Posted on Tripadvisor Mark A Verified Great Lower Winchester walking tour
Tiffany was a great guide, engaging, thoughtful about asking for questions and making sure we stopped in shady spots. Posted on Tripadvisor PercyBrown Verified Informative and enjoyable guided walking tour!
This is the second walking guided tour of Winchester we’ve been on and this was Crime and Punishment. Very interesting, with a vey knowledgeable guide, Judith. Lots of things to see and learn, if you know where to look. Great fun! Thank you and we’ll be back for more! Posted on Tripadvisor John A Verified A local learns so much more
I’ve lived in Winchester all my life and wanted to find out a lot more about the history. I wasn’t disappointed. Excellent tour and excellent guide. Posted on Tripadvisor Alan Verified A walk through history
Friend and I did the lower Winchester tour. Really enjoyed the tour with our guide Diana. Although both of us lived in Winchester most of our lives, we learnt so much about the history of our fantastic city . Great afternoon. Posted on Tripadvisor Trudy B Verified Making Winchester's History Come Alive
Fascinating guided walk of Winchester led by the super knowledgeable and cheery Graham! In an hour and a half we learned about the Romans, the Normans, King Arthur, King Alfred of Wessex, and much more. Graham really brought their involvement in Winchester to life, plus was happy to answer questions. Very well worth the money. Next time I visit Winchester I'll understand much more about what I'm looking at! And extra bonus points to Liz - newly qualified tourist guide - who even helped identify a beautifully scented tree with her phone app! Thanks to you both, and the lovely staff at Winchester Tourist Information. Posted on Tripadvisor Jenny S Verified Two fabulously informative tours of Winchester
We did both the 11 am and 2 pm tours of Winchester with James. There was only minor crossover between the two tours. Both were fantastically informative and highly recommended for visitors to Winchester. This is a good opportunity to get an overview of all the historic and natural wonders in the area, so you can ready yourself for further exploration. James did a fantastic job and was extremely knowledgeable. Posted on Tripadvisor Kerri Picton Robinson Verified Lower Winchester Ciry Tour
Super Lower Winchester city tour yesterday. Very well paced with lots of interesting historical (and current) information and facts provided. Excellent value for money.
